Visible Mending by Hand & Machine

Repairs are structural, expressive, and often both.

Each piece is handled case by case.

Approach

Work ranges from reinforcement to reconstruction, depending on the piece.

  • patching and appliqué

  • darning

  • seam repair and stabilization

  • pocket rebuilds

  • panel replacement

Repairs are done by hand and machine using traditional and improvised techniques with an improvised approach that responds to the material and its wear. I primarily work with natural, non-stretch fabrics like cotton, denim and vintage workwear.

Repair materials are chosen based on the garment and the repair.

Available:

  • premium vintage fabrics

  • Japanese boro textiles

  • standard fabrics

I do not offer invisible darning or heritage-accurate restoration.

No alterations. (Hemming available.)

Sashiko

Sashiko embroidery is available.

Work may be structural, decorative, or both. Patterns are not pre-set or overly uniform. Stitching follows the needs of the repair and the character of the garment.
