Walton Shop Coat
The Walton is an original work jacket developed over dozens of prototypes and small revisions. It draws from French chore coats, American utility clothing, and Japanese workwear, while remaining distinctly its own.
Brown Japanese selvage denim with tonal hand embroidery throughout. Rather than creating a graphic, I used the stitching to add texture and rhythm to the surface. Selvage edges are incorporated into the construction and left visible where possible. The inside of the jacket carries the same approach, with additional hand stitching that isn’t immediately visible when worn.
The Columbo is a Walton variant with an original pocket layout. Oversized lower top-entry pockets are layered over separate side-entry handwarmer pockets, while upper center-entry pockets and two interior pockets complete a system designed to keep tools and everyday objects organized.
The Walton is designed to be lived in. Like the garments that inspired it, it is intended to soften, fade, and accumulate its own history over time.
